COMMUNITY EVENTS AND OUTREACH
Voices for Children depends on the support of the community to provide advocacy for foster children throughout our service area. Fundraising and community events provide opportunities to recruit volunteers and to fund the mission of providing advocacy for children in the foster care system. We cannot serve 100% of children in foster care in the Brazos Valley if we do not have the funds to get us there - events are a critical way Voices for Children's mission is made a reality.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES
Voices for Children invites you to attend, participate and support the organization through these and other events and activities. For more information regarding the events and activities, please contact the Voices for Children office.
The Change a Child's Story Gala brings together powerful voices in the CASA community who believe in our mission and have a heart for the children we serve. The gala is the largest fundraising event of the year for our organization. Proceeds raised at the event are used to recruit, train and retain volunteers from the community to advocate for the best interest of children involved in the foster care system. The Gala is held annually on the first Saturday of March.
Rock the CASA Theta 5K
CASA is the national philanthropy for Kappa Delta Theta. "Theta" hosts Rock the CASA 5K annually in April. Proceeds from the event benefit Voices for Children and the Theta Foundation.
Shop for CASA
Voices for Children hosts a back-to-school drive in June each year benefitting the children served by the program. While several back-to-school drives focus on school supplies, this drive is meant to provide basics like clothing and backpacks so that a child can feel confident going back to school. The goal is to outfit the children for excellence and provide two new outfits and a backpack. Donations are due by June 30th by 4:30 PM.
Community members are invited shop to submit an interest form to shop for a child (or children) using the form linked below. You will be matched with a local child in foster care based on your preferences. You will receive information on a local child in foster care such as the styles they are interested in, uniform requirements, favorite characters, etc. to ensure that you are able to find items the child is excited to wear.
If you have any questions, please give us a call at (979)-822-9700 or email Katelyn Dannenbaum.

Brazos Valley Gives 2023
Voices for Children participates in the annual Day of Giving sponsored by Brazos Valley Gives. Brazos Valley Gives is 18 hours of online giving that brings the region together on one day and as one community to raise critical funding and awareness for nonprofit organizations throughout the Brazos Valley. Powered by the Community Foundation, Brazos Valley Gives provides citizens and businesses with an easy platform to support the mission and good works of local nonprofit organizations that serve the Brazos Valley. All donations pass through to the donor's charity of choice. BV Gives will be held on October 17th. Matching Donors are needed for this event.
Holiday Toy Drive
Each year, Voices for Children hosts a holiday toy drive benefitting the children served by the program. The goal of the drive is to bring joy to children who have experienced so much in their lives. Community members are invited to submit an interest form to shop for a child (or children). Volunteers will be matched with a local child in foster care. Voices for Children will begin distributing shopping lists in November 2023. For more information, please give us a call at (979)-822-9700 or email Lauren Barnhill.
